About the Event

How has a measurable boost in passenger satisfaction been achieved on time and on budget through rail transformation at Birmingham New Street?

The Birmingham New Street Phase 7 Project is a tale of performance engineering and collaboration that has drastically improved capacity, infrastructure reliability and ultimately, passenger experience in and around the city. The station now boasts a 95% passenger satisfaction rating. But how has this been achieved on time and on budget in the face of challenges like the Covid pandemic and major national events such as the 2022 Commonwealth Games?

Steve Bick and Andrew Cardiff will reveal how the team worked through complex challenges to make this project a success. They’ll also outline how intelligent infrastructure design has led to Birmingham New Street becoming the second highest scoring station for passenger satisfaction in the UK and how the system is performing 1 year on.
