South East Area Council

Encompassing all of the bustling and expansive region of the Southeast of England, the South East Area Council has members from the busy capital city of London to the picturesque towns of the South Coast.

This year, the aim of the South East Area Council is to continue hosting several events aimed at engaging and furthering the professional development of our members to aid them in their careers in the rail industry. These events are a great opportunity to engage with fellow rail professionals and build lasting communications with other operators. In recent years, we have visited local projects, hosted talks with industry experts, run hands-on skills workshops over a weekend, as well as visiting European railways to gain a good understanding of how international railways operate and what we could implement into our own practices. All these events have proven hugely popular with our members, and we aim to continue this trend into the next calendar year.

If you are interested in joining the South East Area Council, or have any queries about what we do, then please contact us at southeast@railwayoperators.co.uk

“The South East area are here for you. We are here to make CIRO come alive for you in your local area. Whether it’s attending an event, networking with industry colleagues, seeking a contact to help you with making a difference in your role or wanting to learn more about CIRO, your council are here to help.

As an area we arrange a selection of varied events including visits, talks, international trips, networking opportunities, and the highlight of our annual calendar, the Golden Whistle awards.”
