The train driver End-Point Assessment (EPA) is an evaluation designed to assess skills and knowledge built through the duration of your apprenticeship. It includes both practical and theoretical components and ensures that you are competent to operate a train safely and efficiently.
The assessment involves three assessment methods: Multiple Choice Test; Observations of Planned, Degraded and Emergency Working; and a Professional Discussion.
End Point Assessments are designed to test the apprentice’s knowledge, skills and behaviours defined by the Apprenticeship Plan. A pass in all three assessment methods is required to reach the necessary standard and achieve a pass in the overall End Point Assessment.
Please see our EPA Assessment guidance document which you will find helpful.
The Transport Scheduler End-Point Assessment evaluates the knowledge, skills and behaviours that you have developed throughout your apprenticeship. The assessment confirms that you are competent in planning, reviewing, and developing of timetables, ensuring network operations meet service delivery standards and in the scheduling of onboard crew and support staff to meet operational needs.
The assessment involves two assessment methods: an observation, with questions and an interview, underpinned by a portfolio of evidence.
End Point Assessments are designed to test the apprentice’s knowledge, skills and behaviours defined by the Apprenticeship Plan. A pass/distinction in both assessment methods is required to reach the necessary standard and achieve a pass/distinction in the overall End Point Assessment.
