West Midlands Trains

West Midlands Trains is delighted to have been awarded the West Midlands franchise. We will be operating as one business with two separate brands.

West Midlands Railway (WMR) began operating on 10 December 2017. It provides intercity and commuter train services in the West Midlands region, and is managed jointly by the Department for Transport and West Midlands Rail, a consortium of local authorities. The franchise will run up to 2025, with the possibility of a two year extension.

WMR is part of West Midlands Trains. WMT is responsible for 2,400 employers and operates 1,300 train services every day, carrying 200,000 passengers.

London Northwestern Railway (LNR) began operating on 10 December 2017. It provides intercity and commuter train services on the Euston, Northampton, Birmingham and Liverpool corridors. The franchise will run up to 2025, with the possibility of a two year extension.

LNR is part of West Midlands Trains. WMT is responsible for 2,400 employers and operates 1,300 train services every day, carrying 200,000 passengers.
