The Transport Benevolent Fund is a charitable organisation founded in 1923 to meet the needs of its members. Originally constructed to serve the staff of Transport for London, the fund is now open to all members operating in the public transport industry.
Members of the charity contribute £1.25 a week to support their workforce and become eligible for support for themselves, their partner and dependent children. The TBF can help with financial hardships, illnesses and treatments, welfare, debt and legal advice, bereavement, and more. Alongside membership, the TBF receive industry support and accept donations. This generosity is essential to their work and gratefully received.
CIRO have partnered with the Transport Benevolent Fund to support their work. The railway workforce are at the heart of both CIRO and TBF, and this partnership will consolidate the work of both organisations.
