To celebrate 25 years of championing excellence in railway operations, CIRO is proud to launch a limited-edition commemorative Jubilee boxset of the brand-new 4th Edition Operator’s Handbook, available exclusively to CIRO members.
Beautifully presented in a specially designed collector’s box, this unique edition features bespoke artwork commissioned for our silver jubilee by Staffordshire-based illustrator Emma Joustra, whose intricate style captures the energy, diversity and professionalism that define our industry.
More than just a practical handbook, this boxset is a tribute to CIRO’s 25-year journey and a celebration of the people behind safe, efficient, and effective rail operations. Only 250 copies have been produced, with 60 gifted to our corporate members. The remaining sets are available to individual members for £50, sold on a first-come, first-served basis.
The release of the boxset is a standout moment in CIRO’s 25th anniversary celebrations – a reflection of how far we’ve come since our beginnings as a small professional body, and a symbol of our evolution into a leading voice in rail operations. Over the past two and a half decades, CIRO has worked in partnership with the industry to raise standards, support development, and strengthen the operational workforce.
This year’s Jubilee celebrations have brought our community together to reflect, recognise, and reconnect. In June, we welcomed members and industry leaders to the Jubilee Lunch at the Royal Lancaster in London – a fantastic occasion to honour the people and partnerships that have shaped CIRO’s success.
We also marked the occasion in true railway style with the renaming of a GB Railfreight (GBRf) locomotive in CIRO’s honour – a powerful and lasting symbol of the vital role operations professionals play across the network.
