The Chartered Institution of Railway Operators is recruiting for a new Chief Operating Officer (COO) to join our leadership team in early 2025. This pivotal role will oversee our comprehensive education, learning, and development activities, ensuring that CIRO continues to deliver high-quality professional development to railway operators at all levels.
CIRO is the only professional body dedicated to the development of railway operations. We are committed to supporting the railway industry by providing the best possible training, accreditation, and professional standards. With over 12,000 members and a wide-reaching influence within the rail sector, we play a central role in shaping the future of the industry.
As COO, you will work closely with the CEO to deliver CIRO’s strategic vision and ensure the successful implementation of our education and training portfolio. This includes overseeing our apprenticeship programmes, academic qualifications, and short courses, all of which are designed to develop the next generation of rail professionals. The successful candidate will need strong leadership skills, a passion for professional development, and the ability to collaborate with senior industry stakeholders to further enhance CIRO’s reputation and influence.
