TransPennine Express is transforming intercity train travel in the North by supporting the delivery of the TransPennine Route Upgrade and other network improvements. Following its transfer to DOHL, a core focus for TransPennine Express (TPE) was to deliver a more reliable, punctual and dependable service for customers in the towns and cities it serves across the North of England and into Scotland.
After a challenging few years, a renewed plan for the future by TPE set out the steps to be taken to make journeys better for all its customers, delivered in three phases: (i) Stabilising operations to deliver better reliability and punctuality, (ii) Re-engaging with customers and stakeholders and (iii) Transforming our network.
The introduction of the December 2024 timetable will mark the completion of the stabilisation phase of that plan. Through this talk, Chris will outline the journey taken to stabilise TransPennine Express, the opportunities ahead and the transformational change coming.
