Come and join the South West and Wales Area Council at Exeter for a unique behind the scenes opportunity to see how the railway operates in the West of England.
With thanks to Chris Fuoco and Steve Lawrence for hosting the visit will cover;
– An introduction to the Devon and Cornwall Railway initiative
– Network Rail Training Sandpit – see how NR staff practice real world track and operating scenarios
– GWR TMD – view the facilities that help keep the GWR DMU fleet operating
– Exeter panel signal box – understand how the West of England mainline is signalled from east of Taunton through to Penzance and the interfaces with other panels and signal boxes with semaphore signals.
The visit should conclude by 18:00

This is a CIRO members only event as visitor numbers are limited to 15 attendees. Places will be drawn from a randomised ballot on 03/09/26.
