In December 2025 the railway implemented its largest timetable change on the East Coast main line for many years, offering faster journeys, thousands more weekly seats, and increased service frequencies. Backed by a £4bn investment, the upgrade brings improved connections between London, Yorkshire, the North East, and Scotland. There are also upgrades to some regional services.
John Grainger, Joint Head of Performance – East Coast Partnership (LNER & Network Rail), will be speaking about the development of the timetable, and specifically how the team understood and mitigated the risk to performance.
