About the Event

The North East Area Council invites members to a presentation on Strategic Planning.

The presentation will be delivered by
Carew Satchwell FCIRO, Head of Strategic Planning at North West and Central Region, Network Rail.

Network Rail is responsible for understanding and shaping what the future of Britain’s railway looks like through delivery of long-term plans, working at a local level, with Network Rail’s Regions, train operators, and transport bodies to enable informed investment decisions to be made. These could be potential changes required to the service specification, the timetable, rolling stock and/or infrastructure. The recommendations focus on the long-term railway – ensuring rail provides socio-economic benefits for passengers, freight users and the general public.

Carew will be presenting a general overview of what’s involved in strategic planning.

We look forward to welcoming you to the LNER Talent Academy, where you will have the opportunity to network while enjoying light refreshments from 17:00.  We know that many members welcome the opportunity to meet industry colleagues and we will also adjourn to the ‘York Tap’ after the event for some drinks and a chat.

How to Attend

In-person attendees are invited to attend from 17:00 where light refreshments will be available. Please note that you should aim for a prompt arrival, as the reception area at the Academy will not be resourced after 17:30hrs.
