About the Event

The North East Area Council invites members to a visit to the Progress Rail Maintenance Depot at Doncaster, where we will be given a tour of the facilities.

Progress Rail is owned by the global organisation Caterpillar Inc. It operates as a subsidiary focused on rail infrastructure and locomotive manufacturing, including the Electro-Motive Diesel (EMD) brand. Located in Doncaster, Roberts Road Depot offers a state-of-the-art maintenance facility for Class 66 locomotives and rolling stock. All maintenance repairs are undertaken, from wheel changing to a full engine rebuild.

The visit will last for approximately 3 hours.

How to Attend

Places are limited to 15 for this visit.

PPE will be required: safety boots, high visibility vest/jacket, bump cap/helmet and safety glasses.
It may be possible to provide a limited amount of PPE, if you require this, please advise your requirements, including shoe size, during the booking and we will confirm if we can help you with this.

When booking, please let us know whether you have any mobility requirements.
