Metrolink Queens Road Depot Visit

Hosted by CIRO North West & Wales Area Council

Thursday 12th September at 10:30

About the Event

Since its inception in modern form, after a grand opening by the late Queen Elizabeth II in 1992, Metrolink has come a long way. With 7 destination, 106 stops and a fleet of 147 vehicles, technology has played a pivotal role in the development of the largest tram system in the country.

The North West & Wales Area Council is delighted to offer members to a behind-the-scenes insight into training and maintenance at Metrolink Queens Road depot. After visiting the wheel lathe and guided tour of bogie workshop, members will be given the opportunity to be a driver in the latest, realistic tram simulator to drive on a chosen route.

POD sections covered:
03. Delivering Passenger & Freight Services
07. Train Movement Control Systems
08. Rolling Stock and Fleet Management
