The North East Area Council invites members to our Family Day at the Keighley & Worth Valley Railway.

Attendees should make their own way to Keighley station and meet on platform 4 at 10:30 for the 11:00 departure.

There will be the opportunity for you and your family to travel on steam trains on this heritage line, which runs for 5 miles from Keighley to Oxenhope. Set in the heart of Bronte country, the line was also the location for the filming of the iconic ‘Railway Children’ film and has beautifully restored and maintained stations. Before the hustle and bustle of Christmas is upon us, join the NE Area on a relaxing journey of steam and nostalgia.

It is also hoped to include some visits to specific parts of the railway, choosing from a visit to the Keighley signal box; Ingrow Museum of Rail Travel and Ingrow Loco; Haworth Loco Workshops; or Oxenhope Carriage & Wagon Workshops.

A buffet lunch will be provided.  The visit will end around 1700.

Places are limited for this visit.  Therefore please register as soon as possible, as places will be allocated on a first come, first served basis.  When booking, please let us know the number of adult and child places you would like, and whether you have any mobility or dietary requirements.  If a delegate subsequently cannot attend, it is essential that they notify the organiser; late advice or failure to notify may reduce eligibility for subsequent events.
