The North East Area Council invites members to their Family Day at the Keighley & Worth Valley Railway.
Attendees should make their own way to Keighley station and meet on platform 4 at 10:30 for the 11:00 departure.
There will be the opportunity for you and your family to travel on steam trains on this heritage line, which runs for 5 miles from Keighley to Oxenhope. Set in the heart of Brontë country, the line was also the location for the filming of the iconic ‘Railway Children’ film and has beautifully restored and maintained stations. Join the North East Area on a relaxing day of steam and nostalgia.
It is also hoped to include some visits to specific parts of the railway, choosing from a visit to the Haworth Locomotive Workshops, Oxenhope Carriage & Wagon Workshops, and Keighley signal box. Your ticket will also include admission to the Vintage Carriages Trust’s Museum and the Bahamas Locomotive Society’s Museum and Engineering Centre, both of which are at Ingrow.
A buffet lunch will be provided. The visit will end around 1700.
As places are limited for this visit, CIRO members only may register for this event. Please register as soon as possible, as places will be allocated on a first come, first served basis.
When booking, do let us know via the booking form, the number of adult, child (5-15) and child (under-5) places you would like, and whether you have any mobility or dietary requirements.
