The North East Area Council invites members to a visit to the Heaton Train Maintenance Depot, where we will be given a tour of the facilities.
The depot is operated by Northern Trains. The basic allocation consists of Class 156 and Class 158 diesel multiple units operated by Northern. TransPennine Express, London North Eastern Railway and Lumo also use the depot for storage or servicing of units.
The visit will last for approximately 2-3 hours.
Places are limited to 20 for this visit, therefore please register by 10th April. We will operate a draw to allocate places and you will be advised as soon as possible if you have been successful in securing a place.
PPE will be required as follows: safety shoes/boots, high visibility vest, bump cap and safety glasses. PPE can be provided, but it would be helpful if you have your own. If you do need any, please advise your requirements, including shoe size, during the booking.
When booking, please let us know whether you have any mobility requirements. Further details will be given to those who have been allocated a place. If a delegate subsequently cannot attend, it is essential that they notify the organiser; late advice or failure to notify may reduce eligibility for subsequent events.
