The Midlands Area Council invites members to a guided tour of Etches Park Depot, providing insight into the significant overhaul and modernisation programme undertaken in recent years. The visit will showcase how these investments have transformed depot infrastructure, maintenance capability, and day-to-day operational efficiency.
Attendees will hear a detailed overview of the current method of operation, including changes to workflows, facilities, and maintenance practices that support a modern mixed-fleet environment.
Participants will see home of the new Class 810 Aurora fleet and learn about the specific requirements, technologies, and processes involved in maintaining these new trains alongside Hitachi. The session will provide practical insight into how the depot has been adapted to accommodate the Class 810s and support their entry into service.
This event is aimed at rail professionals with an interest in depot modernisation, fleet introduction, maintenance strategy, and operational transformation, and will offer valuable learning through real-world application.
The event will last for approximately 2 hours.

Visitors are encouraged to bring their own PPE (HVV, bump cap, safety glasses) however a small amount of stock is available if required.
Safety boots/shoes are mandatory but are not able to be provided.
