About The Event

Hosted by the CIRO South East Area, join this in person event at Palestra, Blackfriars with guest speakers Richard Allan and Rianna Stanwell who will be presenting on Developing Chiltern Railways.

Managing Director Richard Allan and Programme Director Rianna Stanwell will explain Chiltern Railways’ 2030 vision, which sets out future development plans including a 3-phase plan to modernise and decarbonise what is now the oldest fleet in the industry. Chiltern has recently launched the first of its refurbished class 168 DMU, while the operator is also looking to place its Mark 3 coaches, and the DfT has approved the outline business case for replacement.

The opening in 2025 of East West Rail will see additional services running alongside those operated by Chiltern between Bicester and Oxford, while HS2 is another new line which is changing the landscape and travel patterns, both of which are affecting Chiltern’s routes.
