About the Event

Major events across our network are really important to Chiltern Railways and our customers. We have a dedicated Special Events Manager to develop and deliver Special Events Plans which carry over 300,000 customers to in excess of fifty sporting events and music concerts at Wembley Stadium every year. This grows year on year, with 2025 the biggest ever Wembley season. The rail journey for our customers is a crucial part of an event goer’s total experience. There are multiple stages of the events lifecycle that we need to get right (and work collaboratively on with the industry and event venues).

Ryan and Rachel will provide an insightful narrative on their decision-making points for taking Wembley events from early-stage planning, review and delivery. They will bring to life how Chiltern Railways blends the train planning and operational elements with human factors, spectator behaviour and crowd dynamics to deliver safety-focused and customer-centric events. Ryan and Rachel will also look towards the future of major events and how the rail industry should respond to changes in legislation, customer demand and ‘One Railway’ collaboration.
