About the Event

Event Purpose

Join CIRO Scotland for a behind-the-scenes visit to Russell RailRoad’s Coatbridge Terminal, Scotland’s principal intermodal freight hub. Delegates will hear from industry leaders, tour the facility, and observe live freight operations, including the arrival of scheduled intermodal services into the terminal, offering a rare opportunity to experience first-hand how rail freight supports customers and supply chains across the UK. The event will explore operational, commercial and sustainability aspects of freight transport while providing valuable networking and professional development opportunities.

By the end of the event, delegates will:

• Understand how intermodal freight operates.
• Explore the role of rail freight terminals within the national supply chain.
• Gain insight into freight train planning, capacity management, and network operations.
