About the Event

At 09:38 on 12 August 2020 a passenger train returning to Aberdeen collided with debris washed from a drain onto the track near Carmont, west of Stonehaven, following severe rain.  Of the nine people aboard, three were killed, and six were injured.

Clare Brint, Principal Programme Engineer at Network Rail, will take us through some of the main findings from the investigations into the accident, changes that have been implemented, and improvements that are underway in response to recommendations from those investigations.
