Birmingham Rail Resilience Hub Visit

Hosted by CIRO Midlands Area Council

Tuesday 3rd March | 09:30

Location: Birmingham Rail Resilience Hub

Approximately a 5-minute walk from Witton station (around 8 minutes from Birmingham New Street)

About the Event

Join the Midlands Area Council for a behind-the-scenes visit to the Birmingham Rail Resilience Hub, a specialist training and exercising facility designed to strengthen preparedness across the railway industry.

This visit will give attendees the opportunity to explore the site layout and understand how the facility is used to test, train, and exercise railway responders and incident commanders in realistic operational scenarios. On the day of our visit, the British Transport Police (BTP) firearms team will be conducting a live exercise, providing a rare opportunity to see the training environment in action and observe how multi-agency response capabilities are developed in practice.

This session offers valuable insight into resilience planning, incident command, and operational readiness across the network.
