A visit to the Azuma Maintenance Depot in Doncaster

Meet at Doncaster Railway Station by the ticket office at 10:15 for the visit at 11.00

About the Event

The North East Area Council invites members to a visit to the Azuma Maintenance depot in Doncaster, where we will be given a tour of the depot.

Doncaster Carr depot is located alongside the East Coast Main Line in Doncaster.  It is operated by Hitachi as part of their contract to maintain the Class 800 and Class 801 fleets for London North Eastern Railway, and the Class 802 fleet for TransPennine Express.

This visit will be of particular interest to those who are keen to further their knowledge of traction and rolling stock, especially as it gives the opportunity to see at first-hand how a modern maintenance depot operates.

The visit will include a full tour of the maintenance facility and will last for approx 1½ to 2 hours.

POD Sections Covered:

8. Rolling Stock & Fleet Management
