Join us for a talk by Phil James. Phil will be giving a general talk about all things North West & Central Region, North West Route.
Phil, as Route Director North West, is accountable for train performance for the North West route which runs from Cheshire in the south to Merseyside, Greater Manchester, Lancashire and Cumbria in the North.
Major stations across the route include Crewe, Liverpool Lime Street, Manchester Victoria, Manchester Piccadilly, Bolton, Preston, and Carlisle. The route is home to the two Northern Powerhouse cities of Liverpool and Manchester, as well as the tourist destinations of Blackpool and the Lake District.
Phil takes responsibility for operations, maintenance and minor renewals, and managing the day-to-day delivery of train performance and managing the relationships with the local train operating companies: Avanti West Coast, CrossCountry, East Midlands Railway, MerseyRail, Northern, Scotrail and TransPennine Express.
There will be a Q&A session afterwards, but due to the current political climate, these will be accepted as pre-submitted written questions which can be handed to the event organisers on arrival at the venue.
