CIRO’s Jubilee celebration continues into The Greatest Gathering
Continuing CIRO’s year of celebrations for our 25-year Jubilee, we are excited to announce that we will be attending Railway 200’s The Greatest Gathering.
Railway 200 is a landmark celebration marking 200 years since the birth of the railway industry in the UK, a pivotal development that transformed transport, industry, and communities across the country and beyond.
The Greatest Gathering is a three-day festival honouring the past, present, and future of the railway. The event will feature over a hundred trains and rail vehicles, hosted at the historic Derby Litchurch Lane works — one of the world’s largest rolling stock factories, originally opened by the Midland Railway in 1876.
This marks the first time in over 50 years that the factory will be open to the public, making it a truly historic occasion.
As we celebrate our Silver Jubilee year, we are proud to take part in this memorable event, celebrating both the progress the rail industry has made over the last century and our own mission of fostering a community of railway excellence and professional development.
Throughout the event, we will be connecting with both rail enthusiasts and industry professionals in the Exhibitor Zone, make sure to visit us if you’re planning to attend. Whether you’re a rail enthusiast, a professional seeking career growth, or someone considering a future in rail, The Greatest Gathering promises to offer something for everyone.
Our ongoing mission is to support railway operations professionals at every stage of their careers, offering a strong community of over 13,000 members and extensive learning and development opportunities. To support this, our team will be inviting visitors to take part in a range of engaging activities across all three days, including interactive exhibits, career insight sessions, and expert-led discussions designed to stimulate and inspire guests during each visit.
Join us at The Greatest Gathering and help us celebrate 25 years of rail excellence.
