CIRO Celebrates Academic Success as Students Graduate | Chartered Institution of Railway Operators

The Chartered Institution of Railway Operators celebrated the remarkable achievements of its academic students today during a prestigious graduation ceremony held at Glasgow Caledonian University. This event recognised the hard work, commitment, and resilience of learners who have balanced their educational pursuits alongside demanding professional and personal responsibilities.

The ceremony brought together graduates, their families, and CIRO representatives, including CEO Phil Sherratt and Learning & Development Manager Adam Fenton. It provided an opportunity to highlight education as a powerful catalyst for personal and professional transformation, as well as its vital role in shaping the future of the railway industry.

Adam Fenton, CIRO’s Learning & Development Manager, shared his reflections on the occasion: “Today’s graduates exemplify the very best of our industry. Their determination to excel both academically and professionally is truly inspiring. It’s an honour to celebrate their success and to witness the bright future they represent for railway operations.”

Graduates from programmes including the Certificate of Higher Education, Diploma of Higher Education, and Bachelor of Science in Railway Operations Management were celebrated, with many continuing their careers at leading organisations such as Network Rail, Great Western Railway, and Irish Rail. The event served as a reminder that higher education remains accessible and impactful at any stage of life, inspiring current and future learners to reach their full potential.

A drinks reception hosted by CIRO was held the night before the ceremony, offering attendees an opportunity to network and reflect on the day’s achievements. This tradition continues to underscore the Institution’s role in fostering a strong sense of community among its members and alumni.

Congratulations to all graduates – the railway industry is in good hands with your leadership, innovation, and dedication. For more information on CIRO’s academic programmes, visit https://www.ciro.org/learning-and-careers/.
