Monday: Spotlight on Lauren Rothery
We kick off the week by highlighting the accomplishments of Lauren Rothery. Lauren has demonstrated outstanding dedication and skill throughout her apprenticeship journey, setting a great example of the opportunities that apprenticeships provide. Her story showcases the benefits of hands-on learning and industry engagement, proving that apprenticeships are a powerful tool for career development.
Tuesday: Garreth Hilditch’s Journey Through Challenging Times
During the challenging period of the COVID-19 pandemic, career progression opportunities across many sectors, including rail, were limited. However, for Garreth Hilditch, Fleet Planning Manager at Greater Anglia, this period became a pivotal moment to rethink his professional aspirations. Determined to continue advancing despite uncertainty, Garreth enrolled in the CIRO Level 4 Passenger Transport Operations Manager apprenticeship. His journey highlights the resilience and ambition of apprentices who use these programs to shape their futures.
Wednesday: Stevie Green and the Level 5 Operations Manager Apprenticeship
On Wednesday, we celebrate Stevie Green, a dedicated professional who pursued the Level 5 Operations Manager Apprenticeship. This program provides crucial skills and knowledge for individuals stepping into managerial roles within the rail industry. Stevie’s experience demonstrates how higher-level apprenticeships can prepare candidates for leadership, offering invaluable training that bridges the gap between technical expertise and strategic management. Thursday: Exploring the End-Point Assessment (EPA) Experience
Thursday will focus on the crucial End-Point Assessment (EPA) aspect of apprenticeships. We will hear from a training provider customer of CIRO, who will share their thoughts and experiences on the assessment process. The EPA is a vital component of any apprenticeship, ensuring apprentices meet the required standards and are fully prepared to contribute effectively to the industry. Friday: Culminating in a Live Webinar
To round off the week, we invite you to join us at 11am online for an exclusive online webinar featuring CIRO’s Head of Apprenticeships, Sarah Vernon, alongside training and apprenticeship managers from across the rail industry. Former and current apprentices will share their insights, experiences, and thoughts on the importance of apprenticeships in rail. The session will also include a Q&A where prospective apprentices and employers can learn more about how apprenticeships can support career progression and training needs.
