Lisa McFadden and Jack Mitchel will be delivering a presentation on the design to date of NIROC (Northern Ireland Railway Operating Centre) and the construction delivery process of this signalling system to give insights into the complexities and challenges of delivering in an operational environment.
Translink’s Belfast Transport Hub is a multi-million-pound investment funded by the Department for Infrastructure. It will be at the heart of an exciting new neighbourhood called ‘Weavers Cross’ in Belfast City Centre.
The station is expected to be fully operational by 2025 and as a transport-led regeneration project, it is a hugely important NI Executive Flagship Project. Delivering on the ambitions of the Programme for Government, it will be a key driver of economic growth and prosperity for Belfast & Northern Ireland. It will be the main transport gateway to Belfast, creating a sense of arrival in a modern, progressive city, with rail, bus and coach connections to all parts of Northern Ireland and beyond.
Designed to be fully inclusive for all, this impressive facility will be a catalyst for the regeneration of the area and ensure we have the right infrastructure in place to encourage modal shift and encourage more people to choose public transport.
As part of Belfast Transport Hub development, Translink are investing heavily in the design and delivery of a state-of-the-art railway system, future proofing rail travel in Northern Ireland.
