Learning from best practice – Japanese Railway Operations

Tuesday 11th June at 18:00

Hosted by CIRO South East Area Council

About The Event

Guest speaker:
Tamzin Readman ACIRO, Operations Director, Network Rail for Kent

Exchanges by management teams between the UK and Japanese railways have been a long-held tradition.

We will hear from Tamzin Readman, Operations Director, Network Rail for Kent along with other UK railway colleagues who visited Japan in November 2023. Her talk will detail some of the unique differences in the way the two countries’ railways are operated but also the remarkable similarities and the myriad of opportunities they found to learn and share ideas with each other.

A great opportunity to learn of different ways to run trains, but also what we can be proud of in the UK!

POD sections covered:
3. Delivering Passenger & Freight Services
5. Delivering Customer Services

Venue:
Networx, Puddle Dock, London
close to Blackfriars station

Refreshments from 17:30 for an 18:00 start followed by food and drinks nearby.
