A Visit to Hull Botanic Gardens Maintenance Depot

Hosted by CIRO North East Area Council

Wednesday 24th April 2024

About the Event

The North East Area Council invites members to a visit to the Hull Botanic Gardens Train Care Centre, where we will be given a tour of the depot.

Hull Botanic Gardens is home to the train operator’s Class 155 and Class 170 trains and was expanded and upgraded in 2022. The work at the Botanic Gardens facility increased the Centre’s maintenance and servicing capacity – helping keep more trains available across the network. New modern equipment has been installed, including a crane, train roof access platforms and jacks, as well as an additional fuelling road. The train shed at the depot was also given a new roof, with Northern and Network Rail working closely together on the project.

The visit will last for approximately 2 hours.

POD Sections Covered:
3.         Delivering Passenger & Freight Services
8.         Rolling Stock & Fleet Management
