The presentation will include Gus’s progression in the main line railway to Executive Director of Operations and Safety, including his acquisition of a degree and subsequent Fellowship of CIRO, as well as the transition to MD of Severn Valley Railway.
There may be a simple comparison of the two roles, together with some of the fascinating facts about the heritage railways in the UK. The Severn Valley Railway involvement and events for Railway 200 in 2025 will also be included. This should be a useful example for attendees of how CIRO can enhance careers in the railway industry.
Catering for attendees will be provided. One additional advantage is the on-site pub “The King and Castle” which we can visit post presentation.
(The event will last approximately one hour which will include time for introductions, presentation and questions.)
