The Chartered Institution of Railway Operators exists to advance and promote the safe, reliable and efficient operation of the railways, by improving the technical and general skills, knowledge and competence of those engaged in the operation of the railways and has an international membership of 8,000 operations professionals.

We hope to establish a core of like-minded operations professionals who can help establish the profession of railway operations and support the tremendous growth in Canadian rail.
